Photography auction
Four aspiring artists from the group of undocumented hit the streets with a professional photographer to capture the way they experience the world around them. Because of their different personalities and background stories, all images tell their own powerful story. Together with the help from friends, families, churchgoers, and anyone interested, we were able to raise more than 1000 euros by auctioning off these beautiful portraits.
Solidarity Iftar (Corona-proof version)
During the Ramadan, the majority of the undocumented homeless refugees stayed in a municipal night shelter. Together with a handful of enthusiastic volunteers, we cooked an iftar big enough for everyone in the shelter to partake as we don’t want to exclude anyone!
Of course, we owe our gratitude to the wonderful cooks that made this possible: Naomi, Roqaya, Khaoula, Elvira, Tawfiq, Zeyneb, Zeynep, Döndu, Assia, Zehra, Immi, Cemile, and Adam.
Easter Breakfast
For the easter breakfast with the group of undocumented on the roof of the parking garage, Kempering, we asked Amsterdamse Mama’s to share their love by cooking traditional. Together with donations from different churches in Amsterdam, we were able to provide a memorable easter!
Moreover, we would like to thank Medina Al Halal for providing the group in the garage with food every day.
‘Broodje Pindakaas’/Peanut butter Sandwich
Starting early 2020, we brought bread and spread to the group of undocumented in an empty parking garage in the Bijlmer. Thanks to the donations of numerous churchgoers in, and around, Amsterdam, we were able to make their dire living conditions a little better. This would not have been possible without all the donations, many thanks!
Clothing Drive
Through the support of churches in Amsterdam, we have donated over 500 pair of socks to some of the groups of undocumented living in Amsterdam. Many thanks to friar Fer, who collected 472 euro for the monastery, La Verna, and of Course Boomkerk, Oranjekerk and Singelkerk for their valuable contributions.
